Middletown SDA Church (aka the Friendly Church) is having a free vegetarian cooking class. It features a live cooking demonstration with tasty vegetarian dishes. Everyone samples the prepared dishes and receives a copy of the recipes.
I attended a cooking class here in June and it was fantastic. The food was delicious and plenty of time was allowed for questions related to health and vegetarian cooking. I had never been to Middletown SDA Church before, but everyone was warm and welcoming.
IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING THIS EVENT, YOU MUST REGISTER FOR IT IN ADVANCE. The church needs to knows how much food to purchase and prepare. Otherwise there will not be enough food to go around, which would just be sad.
You can register at www.eventbrite.com/e/vegetarian-cooking-class-registration[masked]?aff=ebdssbdestsearch or by calling the church at[masked]
Come join the Louisville Veggie Meetup Group for a vegan potluck featuring education, food and fun! Explore the benefits of a plant-based, whole foods diet and meet other people who share your interest in healthy living.
Our featured speaker, Terry Gassman, is a nutrition coach who advocates a whole foods, plant-based diet. She is certified in plant-based nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Foundation for Nutrition Studies. (T. Colin Campbell authored "The China Study.")
Terry is passionate about helping people enjoy the best quality of life possible. In addition to her work as a coach, she serves as a speaker/educator to a wide variety of organizations, including companies, non-profit organizations, and churches.
The title of Terry's presentation is "The ABC's of a whole food, plant based diet." Please check out her website (http://wfpblife4me.com). It contains a number of free resources, including lists of recommended documentaries to watch, books to read, and websites to review.
The meal is a potluck-style vegan buffet. Please bring a 100% vegan (no animal ingredients such as dairy or eggs) entree, salad, side or dessert to share (serving size to feed 8-10), as well as your own serving utensils, plate, and drink. We welcome both cooked and raw vegan cuisine, homemade or store-bought. For those of you who won't have time to cook, you can easily purchase a vegan product from Rainbow Blossom for the potluck.
