Art and Sound Mindfulness Journey – featuring live musician Andrew Ford
Mindfulness is the act of bringing your awareness into the present moment. It is only in the present moment that we are truly able to connect fully to life and it is in this moment that we come alive.
This workshop will involve guided meditation and exercises to help you explore your creativity in a mindful way. A range of art materials will be available (all of these are included) and you will be free to explore, using whichever materials you would like to. You’re also very welcome to simply listen and enjoy the music if at any point you don’t feel like painting/drawing.
Andrew Ford, a musician specialising in meditative music, will be playing two live sets during the workshop. Music has such an amazing power to bring us fully into the present moment and when combined with creative process creates a fertile environment for mindful awareness, insight and creativity.
Andrew’s music focuses around Native American style flutes, kalimbas and Hang (we are very lucky to have Andrew playing his Hang for us, it's a unique and beautiful instrument that produces sounds similar to a harp, bells and harmonically tuned steel drums). The instruments Andrew will be playing provide an ideal backdrop for contemplation and self-exploration.
So come along relax, meditate, create and enjoy!
