• Attend Author Event at Rialto - Anne Hillerman and discuss novel

The Rialto Theatre is hosting Anne Hillerman for an author discussion, so the group chose to read one of her many novels and attend the event. I have heard great things about these events and am excited to finally attend one! We chose 'The Legend of Spiderwoman' We will use this as our meeting for the month, and will probably try to have everyone meet beforehand at one of the downtown restaurants. I will post on that soon. Here is a link to follow for tickets to the event ($5): http://www.ci.loveland.co.us/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/83216/1038?curm=9&cury=2017

Let's try this again! Summer is here, and I see that schedules get crazy. I seem to have a lot of Tuesday conflicts the next month, that's why this one is on a Monday. Please come with your awesome insights into this book (I LOVED it!). Also, let's nail down a couple of summer community service projects! I'll provide some snacks and beverages, but feel free to bring whatever you want! Or nothing at all! Thanks! -Amanda

  • Discuss "Book of Joy" (Dalai Lama) & Community Service Project

    Loco Artisan Cofee House

We picked a beautiful read for next month's discussion - "Book of Joy", with the Dalai Lama & Desmond Tutu. A perfect companion to our group's mission to spread compassion and service. At our meeting we also assembled A TON of Angel Bags, which I have arranged to drop off at the local homeless shelter. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped! Our wonderful group also agreed to arrange some food for a local family hit hard with cancer and other health concerns. I will put together a separate email for those plans. I am steadily working with Loveland Youth Gardeners to put together a plan for a more substantial project, and will update as it moves along. If you couldn't make it to the last meeting, please feel free to jump in whenever you can!

  • Discuss "3 Cups of Tea" and begin Service Project

    Loco Artisan Cofee House

At our first meetup last week, our group chose "3 Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson & David Oliver Relin. We also discussed some options for a community service project, and everyone agreed that we should take a few weeks to do some research and then decide on a project by the next meeting. In the mean time, we are discussing collecting items to create "angel bags", such as hygiene items, snacks, etc, to collectively put together in one bag, possibly to hand out or donate to the 137 Homeless Connection. I will update on this soon.
