Beginning woodworking class to make a candle holder to take home. We will be using the mitre saw to cut the materials to length. I will have previously ripped the boards to width on the table saw before the class. We will then glue them together using the clamps and when set (about 30 minutes) can sand the edges using the belt sander. Finally using the drill press to make a hole for the candle.
The intent is to limit the number of tools to a few to get started. As the series progresses, more and more tools will be used. I will demonstrate how use the tool and supervise the students in using them.
The prerequisite is that they have have taken the shop safety class.
