We're generally browsing in the children's room 15-30 minutes early, if anyone wants to hang out a bit before storytime starts. When we aren't starving, sometimes we also do an easy craft or activity provided by the library after the stories.
This is a group for the parents of children — infants and toddlers and preschoolers, all ages — in the Applewood area who enjoy socializing in low stress environments. We're building a small community of families, exploring our location and learning about each other.
As organizer, I've lately realized that my friendships have taken a back seat since having kids. While I enjoy kid-friendly activities, this group will focus more on moms getting to know each other while the kids are entertained. Small events, small groups. Let's grow a small network of friendly people who know you, know your kids, and care.
Many of the Meetups take place in Lakewood or Applewood, but you don't have to live here to join. During the week, we'll do play dates, walks of varying lengths, meals/coffee, or other local outings based on weather. We aim to meet once or twice per week. About 97% of our meetups are during the week, during the daytime hours, but all members are free to suggest after-hours or weekend meetups (in fact, it's encouraged!) as well as anything else that sounds like fun to you.
Let's keep it low key, because raising kids is stressful enough.
