5610 East Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX
The story behind the Campisi's Restaurant is that it was started in 1946 by Carlo "Papa" Campisi. After his death, the restaurant was taken over by Joe Campisi who supposedly had ties to the Italian Mafia with whom Jack Ruby supposedly paid a visit and dined with Joe Campisi the night before he shot Oswald.
It was also speculated that Jack Ruby, allegedly a mafia member, although it has been subsequently proven or supposedly proven to be false, got his marching orders for the killing of Oswald by Joe himself. During Ruby's incarceration in Dallas, he specifically requested Joe Campisi and his wife to visit him in jail. The record shows that a ten minute visit was paid.
Either way, let's meet at their original store off Mockingbird Ln and Greenville Ave and share a pizza or two. Mob or no mob, they make a fine flat bread pizza and my favorite chicken marsala.
