The outdoor waterlily display comes alive with more than 100 types of day and night-blooming tropical waterlilies, hardy day-bloomers, lotus, and other aquatic plants. Delights abound in the Rose and Topiary Gardens—with scented blooms and the precision geometry of clipped yew. The Flower Garden Walk overflows with annuals during the summer, and the deep calm of forest paths offer a cool respite.
Longwood's Conservatory is one of the world's great greenhouse structures. It shelters 20 indoor gardens and 5,500 types of plants. The Conservatory was built in 1919 and has been periodically expanded and renovated. At present, there are 195,668 square feet—or 4.5 acres—of covered display, production, and research greenhouses.
A leisurely stroll through the display areas takes about 1½ hours and covers about ½ mile.
Get ready for an evening of oohs and ahhs, as Longwood presents spectacular fireworks and fountains shows guaranteed to make your summer memorable.
Celebrate America with well-known patriotic favorites, including John Philip Sousa's The Stars & Stripes, Richard Rodgers' Victory at Sea, Irving Berlin's God Bless America, and more.
