What we're about

We are a community of like-minded individuals meeting together every week to maintain/deepen our mindfulness practices. This is an opportunity to start or build a mindfulness practice if you are unfamiliar with meditation. No experience is necessary to attend any of our meetings - newcomers are welcome! Together we are creating a revolution from the inside out!

We offer weekly teacher led practice meetings, study groups on a number of mindfulness-related concepts, mindfulness based, programs, workshops, retreats, as well as trainings for aspiring and established mindfulness teachers. Check out our calendar here: https://mindfulness-alliance.org/programs/

They are informed by theories and practices from contemplative traditions, science, medicine, psychology and education. The purpose of MBPs is to help participants develop a new relationship with experience characterized by present moment focus, decentering and an approach rather than an avoidance orientation. This supports the development of improved attentional, emotional and behavioral self-regulation, as well as positive qualities such as compassion, wisdom, equanimity. Participants are engaged in sustained and intensive training in mindfulness practices in an experiential inquiry-based learning process, including exercises to develop insight and understanding. The elements of the curriculum are adapted to fit specific populations and contexts. MBPs are designed to complement traditional medical and psychological treatments, not to replace them. They are therapeutic skill-building courses, but they are not therapy. Professionals who provide MBPs are required to fulfill specific training requirements including coursework, hands on experience, and mentoring. PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED because space is limited.
