We are calling on all New Yorker's to walk with us in support of our public school system and its youth, teachers, families and communities. United Way NYC is planning a 10,000 person march for NYC public schools on Sunday, June 2, 2019. The march will begin in lower Manhattan, cross over the Brooklyn bridge and end with a large scale Future Festival in Brooklyn with live music and performances as well as a vendor and sponsor village, speeches from notable celebs, politicians and our local youth, food trucks, live street art, a sponsored reading tent with authors giving story time among-st a whole slew of great interactive opportunities for all ages!
March United for Public schools has been created to inspire the public to take action in support of our teachers, our students and to rally behind the democratic notion of public education. Proceeds benefit United Way of New York City and their education initiatives supporting students, and their families, living in our city's most challenged neighborhoods shift from barely surviving to thriving.
