Vavá United School of Samba is excited to brings to you Danielle Lima and Andressa Telles for a one day exclusive samba dance workshop! This explosive workshop features three exciting 90 minute sessions starting with a samba fundamentals conducted by our very own Andressa Telles follow by two intensive samba workshop sessions lead by DANIELLE. Workshop Classes - Andressa Telles - Samba Fundamentals - $15 (Single Class Pass) - Danielle Lima - 1st class: Samba flow & 2nd class: Advanced beginners / intermediate samba - $20 (Two Class Plass) - Danielle & Andressa all in one - $25 (Three Class Pass) DANIELLE D a n i e l l e L i m a is a Professional Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From early age Danielle discover a passion for samba when she joined the kids wing at Samba School Beija-Flor de Nilopolis where she parade for many years and developed her own samba no pe style inspired by some of the greatest passistas of Beija-flor. Danielle’s dance education also comes from her studies at the Dance Studio Valeria Brito, at Dance Center of Rio where she studies Ballet, Jazz, modern and National Folklore Dances. In 2000, Danielle leaves Brazil to work with Ringling Bros. and Barnun & Bailey as a dancer, where she toured for 3 years. Later in 2005, located in New York City Danielle began teaching Samba in Djoniba Drum & Dance Center one of the most traditional dance school specialized in African and Diaspora Dances. In 10 years living and working in New York Danielle Lima teaches and performs with her students Samba regularly in shows and parades. Danielle’s teaching philosophy explores Samba as more than a rhythm and a dance. Her method presents Samba as a tradition, as Art and Culture that brings people together as a powerful and united community. ANDRESSA A n d r e s s a T e l l e s - Dancer, Choreographer and Instructor. My life with samba started at the age of 8. From that point on, Andressa stayed continuely involve in the Brazilian Carnival. At age 18 she competed in her first Brazilian Samba contest. Andressa became Carnival Princess in 2011, was Musa of the Samba School Vila Mathias (Santos- São Paulo) 2012, Queen of Carnival (Santos - São Paulo) 2013 and Musa of the Samba School Águia de Ouro in São Paulo 2014 and 2015. Additionally, Andressa participated in the opening of the Japan Asakusa Carnival 2015. Since 2016, Andressa has been instructing, dancing, choreographing and coordinates the annual International Samba Day cultural project for the Washington, DC Samba Dance corps.

Our team of instructors, featuring Amtchat Edwards, will get you in the groove! From proper form, synchronization, basic steps, turns and individual movement, we dance you right through it! . Fly solo or bring a friend...we can't wait to share our passion with YOU!
