Walkway Over The Hudson

Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County; Highland, Ulster County (1.28 miles) Scenic Hudson was a major supporter of turning this 1889 railroad bridge into the world's longest elevated pedestrian span. Outstanding views along the 1.28-mile bridge include eight properties protected by Scenic Hudson. The universally accessible Walkway is part of the Walkway Loop Trail and links to the Hudson Valley Rail Trail (Ulster), making longer excursions possible.

We survived my first gps guided ride. 300 miles of riding and about 2 miles of walking( no gps for walking) was winging it for the return trip due to gps malfunction.

I am wondering why you even tried to use a GPS. Were you having a bad day or night and just couldn't get your bearing straight? Wah? Wah happened? You are way better than any GPS I know of :)

The gpx files can be found in Files (from banner menu option More). These are the 'suggested' routes to and from the Walkway. The leader may alter either route as he/she so choses. Happy trails!

Need any help? Sportsters are my speciality!

After the best broke found out I needed the front sprocket, rear pulley and a new belt. Cost prohibitive to my wallet to the tune of around $600.00. Tom mentioned that we should switch it over to chain drive which is what we are doing. Cheaper, stronger so I see no downside at all. Had no idea I could do that to my bike. Had I known I would have done it years ago after going through 4 belts since 06. Hope to be on the road soon. Thanks for the offer of help Ralph but I don't have a garage just a storage space and too crowded since we have to do it inside so the management won't lose their damn minds about us working on there property.

I was up there with my ex-BF years ago, and thought it was a cool place. I had trouble looking over the edge at the river, though, with my vertigo :(.
Not sure if I can make this ride - will post proper RSVP when I'm more certain.
