What we're about

Hello everyone! 안녕하세요! こんにちは! My name is Daria.
私の名前はダリアです。はじめまして。내 이름은 다리아 에요. 만나서 반가워요. I have been going to meetups for many years, and I am creating this one to fill the gap in Japanese and Korean meetups. There are so many Japanese meetups and language exchanges that are not even at Japanese restaurants. There are many Korean and Japanese meetups that are so far out that people in MD and DC find it hard to get to them; the commute is way too long, or the meetup is at a place where there is no metro, so people in MD and DC are left out. So at this meetup, we will have Japanese language events at actual Japanese restaurants, and Korean language events at Korean restaurants. I have been teaching English to Japanese students through a school in Japan for almost two years, so this meetup will also have ESL lessons. I speak Korean and Japanese, so I can help with pronunciation issues in these languages, and since I am a native English speaker, it is a great chance for real speaking practice.

These are the meetups we will have:
1. Japanese language and culture exchange for practicing Japanese and eating Japanese food.

2. Korean language and culture exchange for practicing Korean and eating Korean food.

3. ESL practice and lessons for anyone who wants to improve and learn English.

4. Eating out at Asian and American-style restaurants throughout MD and DC; occassionally in VA as well. Come out to discover new restaurants in the DMV area. Anyone can come out and join us :)

5. Meetups at Asian bakeries, gaming rooms, karaoke rooms, tea houses, and special events like sake tastings.

All our meetups will only be at places where people can get there easily, even if they do not have a car, so they will all be metro accessible.
