When was the last time you fully expressed how you were feeling? How often do you have a sensitive ear to listen without judgement? Does it feel like you are constantly suppressing your own views and thoughts either to fit in or protect those around you from what you really think?
Don't talk about it, that's fine. It's what we have been told to do since we were young. 'Man up!' Once or twice maybe. However, to keep doing so is where problems can start. This can lead to us holding on to harmful and destructive emotions. This can lead to depression and anxiety. And how do we deal with it? By becoming even more resistant to those whose only desire is to help and support us. Maybe we self-medicate with alcohol or other drugs just to suppress those thoughts and to make us feel differently.
All sound familiar? It does to me! My intention with this group is to bring together men of all ages who feel this way. To create a safe environment to open up and talk. Simple as that.
My role in the group is to facilitate the discussion and to offer thoughts and alternative ways of thinking that may lead to more positive action. I am a life and business coach and I understand what it feels like to be living with depression and anxiety.
All conversations will be confidential and discreet. If you leave with an elevated sense of self-belief and direction then we have achieved something quite special.
“No one realizes how strong someone with depression has to be just to do daily stuff like shower, brush hair or get out of bed.”
