What we're about

Michigan Adventurers Club is a 501(c)4 non-profit whose mission is to build community spirit through our adventures together while exploring nature and discovering interesting places.

Meet with local outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy the wonderful state of Michigan! Activities include (though are not limited to) hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, yoga, rock climbing, biking, cross country skiing, skating, and many other adventures.

This group welcomes all ages. As we have grown, we have gained many members, organizers, friends and memories! If you enjoy the activities listed here, bring your experience and enthusiasm and come join us for an awesome adventure!

If you're new to the group and looking to join us don't be shy! Please tell us about yourself and a little of what you're looking for from the club, to help us understand what type of events you may be looking for. In addition to this, we require a real photo of yourself so we will know who you are and can welcome you when you participate in your first event. If you have any questions or concerns, please be sure to contact the Organizer/Co-Organizer and we will be happy to address them for you. Thanks and hope to see you on an adventure soon!

Hiking at Park Lyndon North (11ish miles) -- followed by picnic

Google map of meeting spot: https://goo.gl/maps/qHbVgwC2F8ofsvdU7 The Plan: Basically, I am being lazy and tacking on to Wendy's hike -- but I am starting 2 hours earlier and doing 10-12 miles. We will try to meet with Wendy's group along the way. But, if that fails, then we will see everyone at the picnic. Wendy's Event (starts at 3:00): https://www.meetup.com/MI-adventurers/events/265548308/ From Wendy's description: After the hike we will enjoy a picnic under the pavilion next to the fireplace. Bring your own food, snacks & drink. You are welcomed to bring something to share as well. Feel free bring your own portable grill. Dogs must be on leashes and please no smoking on this hike! The Meeting Spot: The north entrance of Park Lyndon -- on the north side of North Territorial Road about 1 mile east of M-52 and about 6 miles north of Chelsea. Note: The entrance is really easy to miss, so stay alert. Don't go to the south entrance. The north is on the right side shortly after the south entrance. Costs: We are parking at a Washtenaw County Park- there is no fee. Bathrooms: There is one at the parking lot. Cheers, Charlie and Wendy

Hike, Fire & Picnic -Park Lyndon North (5-6ish miles)

Potawatomi trail hike 18 miles the 4th time of the year . Option 14 miles

Link to meetup location at Silver Lake: https://goo.gl/maps/aBMo2jGbp2K2 This is a moderate to difficult hike depending on your experience and physical condition. Quite HILLY. We will be walking at a good pace (about 3 miles/hr depending on hilliness, not counting any breaks). How to get there: Continue past 8555 Silver Hill Rd., Pinckney, MI until you see a large parking lot. Drive further up the hill to the SECOND parking lot where we meet at the end on the grass near marker 1. We will pause on the trail a few times and stop to eat a snack that you bring at the Blind Lake Campground. You should also pack a couple of full water bottles (there are pump wells on the way to refill). The trail is shared with the mountain bikers who ride in the opposite direction to the hikers (so they will be coming at us). The trail goes through a variety of landscape, some hills, rocks, sand, along various lakes, etc but it is all scenic. You will need a state recreation pass on your vehicle or purchase one at headquarters. We will assemble at 9: 00and start the hike promptly at 9:15 After the hike we will replenish the lost calories at GO TACO. 109 eE Main ST .Pinckney ,MI Note: Silver Lake is where the hike is at.

Tuesday trek : bloomer park ... Fall special visit to Yates cider mill

Bloomer Park Hilltop Shelter

Taking cue from humpday workout hikes , let's start something on Tuesday and this time on the Eastern side. This is a fall special hike. We will meet at the Stone shelter at bloomer park at 5.45 pm and start hiking promptly at 6 . The park entrance is at the intersection of john r rd and bloomer Rd. If I remember correctly there is a $5 fee for entry but you can find some free parking on the other side of Clinton river. We would hike roughly 2.5 miles to Yates cider mill for a mid hike refreshment break and then head back at a healthy pace of 3 miles per hr. We will be hiking in the dark so headlamps /flashlights are a must. After dark , temperatures will drop so carry extra layers.
