Needs a location
What is the plan?
Charlie, the dude who normally hosts these hikes will be having his foot sliced and diced (surgery) the day before and will be home waiting for some free pampering. So in the meantime, Brian and I have offered to coordinate a hike at Kensington Metropark Nature Center. Let’s go have some fun, get some exercise, breath some fresh air, feed the birds and, oh yeah, at the same time, make Charlie THINK we can’t have fun without him, even though we will! We shall be hiking together for about 6-7 miles around the Nature Center trails. (FYI: This is an easy hike.) This is a great year-round birding area and at this time of year the songbirds will land in your hand to eat seed. Please do not drop seed on ground or feed the Sandhill Cranes per the rules. Check out the link below to view the bird list.

Bring water, snacks and a good sense of humor, or not. Sorry, dogs by the way, are not allowed on the nature trail.
Where do we meet?
At the sitting area between the parking lot and the Nature Center.

The easiest way to get to the meeting spot is to take I-96 to exit 151 north, go into the park and the Nature Center will be on your left just over one mile past the entrance.
This is a metorpark so you either need to
1) pay $7 for the day (if you carpool with someone, it will only cost you $3.50 if you split the cost.) :)
2) pay $30 for a yearly pass to all metroparks
3) pay $54 for a yearly pass to all metropark and oakland county park
A celebratory drink and food at Bakers of Milford (http://www.bakersofmilford.com/1/252/index.asp) (only 5 minutes from the park.)
