What is the plan?
Lets hike the gorgeous trails of Highland, connect with nature and enjoy mother nature's handiwork. We will hike at a moderate pace with some breaks along the way. Bring plenty of water, bug repellent, some snacks and a sense of adventure.
"The 721 acre Haven Hill Natural Area has all of southern Michigan’s principal forest types within one small area, including tamarack & cedar swamps, beech-maple forest, oak-hickory forest, and mixed hardwood forest. The area has remained largely undisturbed for the past 90 years and has retained its natural character as well as some unusual flora and fauna."
Where do we meet?
At the parking lot/picnic area on the south east side of Haven Hill Lake (meeting place is circled on the Highland Rec Map- the road is Haven Rd). It is the first right turn after you pass the ranger station- you cannot see it on google maps unless you turn on the satellite view.

This is a state park so you need the Recreation Pass on your license plate. If you do not have a Pass, the worse that happen is a ranger will put a ticket on your car and you will have to pay the $11 for the pass.
