BBQ and Rounders for Charity!

What could be better than a friendly game of rounders in the sun? How about a a friendly game of rounders in the sun that also raises money for VICTA (who help children and young people who are blind or visually impaired)?

Everyone is welcome, however good (or bad) you are! There's a suggested donation of £5 for anyone who wants to take part and we'll even give you a burger or hot dog from the BBQ!!

We'll meet by the labyrinth at North Willen Lake

    NEWSFLASH!!!!!!

Love:MK's next event is going to be held at the World Picnic in Campbell Park on Sunday 28th July, 1pm-6pm. - We have a stall booked and just under two weeks to decide what to do with it. Gemma's had an exciting idea so let's grab a meal and/or a drink this Thursday night 7.30pm at the Slug and Lettuce to discuss it and also to decide on what event we could run after that so that we can advertise it at the Picnic.

Here is the link to the event on meetup http://www.meetup.com/LoveMKVC/events/129901262/
    and on facebook https://www.facebook.com/events/547177445348867/

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions but can't make it on Thursday then feel free to drop us a message.

Here are Gemma's ideas, what do you think?

      1. Give away cards with an act of kindness challenge written on it and a unique code. when people complete the act of kindness they tweet or facebook it using the unique code and #lovemk and pass on the card to someone else, then they can see their acts of kindness spread across the city. (the side effect is that it also publicises our group to all of their friends and followers - bonus!).

      2. Have a big wall (I have a huge perspex box we could use) where people write on the charities and causes they are passionate about and why. We then use this information to decide what events and activities we get involved with in the future.

Of course you can! Everyone is very welcome. We've asked VICTA how we can make the game more inclusive, especially for people who are blind or visually impaired but if you have any ideas do get in touch. There will hopefully be other activities for people to get involved in. TBC.
