Rick will begin playing around 7:00 PM. Please also bring a favorite appetizer and beverage to share -- multicultural cuisine encouraged!
Chez Valerie is a private home which periodically hosts house concerts and various events. 100% of all proceeds are donated to the musicians. We have wood floors so please bring socks or slippers. Also be advised that cats live here too, so those with allergies have been notified and unfortunately I can't allow service animals to attend either.
This is a joint event with the Get Out, Get Social Meetup group. There are two dates for the concert, Monday, October 14 (Columbus Day) and Wednesday, October 16. Please RSVP for only one date. Please accurately RSVP with +1 if you're bringing a guest. This is my home so we need to limit the number of guests. Many others have been invited through Valerie and Rick's connections. If the event looks full, be sure to join the waiting list as there are often many later RSVP changes.
About Rick Udler (RickUdler.com)
It's commonplace to say that a given artist has a foot in two different cultures, but in guitarist/composer Rick Udler's case, it's actually true. He has lived for long stretches of time in both the U.S. and Brazil. He could lay claim to three, four or maybe five different cultures, since he was actually born in Chile--to Argentine parents of Eastern European extraction. His compositions include collaborations with Paulo Cesar Pinheiro, one of Brazil's most admired lyricists. Rhythm & Romance, with singer Maria Alvim was awarded “Best Brazilian Music Debut CD” in the USA. He was also the producer of legendary guitarist Paulinho Nogueira's Reflexões CD. Rick’s 2007 Papaya CD received unanimous praise by the Brazilian and international press. In 2009, his instructional DVD, The Brazilian Sound for Fingerstyle Guitar, was released in the USA and Europe. Rick is currently recording a CD to be released in 2013.
