It’s time for us to have some electronics fun. MadCity Makers will be meeting at the Central Library to tinker around with Ardunios.
Don’t know what an Arduino is? An Arduino is a micro controller that can be used to electronically control a many number of electrical parts, appliances, and machines. The code is open-source and easy to learn. The Arduino gets programmed by connecting to a computer, but will function and execute its programming after it is disconnect from the computer. If that intimidates you, don't let it. Just show up and we'll get you blinking an LED, easy peasy.
So far I only have two people bringing Arduinos. If you have one, please bring it. Whether you have one or not, it is a good idea to bring a laptop. If you’d like, you can go here > http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software#toc2 < and download the program ahead of time to be used at the meet-up.
I will be bringing an array of electronic components to experiment with including LEDs, hobby motors, a servo, piezo buzzer, and more. If you have some, you are welcome to bring your own electronic experiments to play with.
If you don’t have any of these items to bring, don’t worry! You are still welcome to join and check out our stuff.
Happy Making and hope to see you there!
