Volleyball This Week: Sunday afternoon (only)

From: Bob M.
Sent on: Thursday, September 6, 2012 12:47 PM

Our Thursday outdoor groups are finished for the season -- a casualty of diminishing daylight.  But we're still playing Sunday afternoons through the end of September: 2-5pm at the University Bay Drive courts.  Forecast for this week is 73, and "sunny and pleasant."

Note the change of venue.  Our Observatory Drive courts have been overrun by returning undergraduates, but the Univ Bay Drive courts (the ones near Picnic Point) have been open, so we'll go out there for our last three sessions this year.  Remember to BYO water/Gatorade/whatever, and sunscreen too.

INDOOR V-BALL THIS FALL AND WINTER:  Most of the indoor open groups in the area begin this week or next. Many of us will be playing indoors with the "TwoTicks" group at the UW Natatorium on weekend afternoons -- sometimes Saturday, sometimes Sunday.  I'll continue with these weekly emails, probably on Fridays, to relay each week's time/place for the Natatorium groups.

I've posted a list of known local indoor v-ball venues here at MAVN -- click the More menu, and then click the Files option (or just go directly to

Our list at MAVN contains coed open groups only -- like we've been playing, not leagues, but two hours (or more) of pick-up games. League play is also available via MSCR and most other area rec departments, but you may be too late to register for a fall league.  (Try again in Nov/Dec for the January leagues.)
