We were brainstorming at our wonderful planning event at Vintage and thought that it would be fun to have a Valentine's Day event that is NOT costly but really fun. You can bring a food item and BYOB or, if you are not inclined to cook, please feel free to pitch in for liquor/costs to offset for me. I will make a big pitcher of the pineapple upside down martini that Donna so graciously gave me the recipe to. It is delicious. Bring to the event a TRUE story of one of your worst (or funniest) dates or the most romantic thing you have done for someone else. There will be a prize for the winner in each category. Sharing in these stories should be hilarious. We also have a volunteer to come as Cupid for the party and will pin the heart on Cupid -- NOT the live Cupid. :-)
We are still brainstorming a bit about this and it is still in process, so I am open to suggestions for creating fun at the event. I always have games we can play (and a fireplace) but that is just an option.
I want to thank Karen for this suggestion. She will be cohosting this with me....I volunteered the location. I also want to thank those wonderful people that were brainstorming with me at the Vintage and helping to come up with Cupid and his costume. If anyone was some Valentine's Day decorations, games, or would like to decorate, it is all a part of the fun and atmosphere we can create. Please let me know.
FYI: I do have a dog and cat just in case anyone is allergic. They are both very sweet.
If you can, please let us know what you will bring for the potluck -- you can write it in the RSVP. It will help so that we can get a variety and not duplicate too much. :) If you sign up to bring kitchen stuff, i.e., plates, cups, utensils...anything red or Valentine's will do.
This is in conjunction with the Single Parents/Divorced Adults group. Please sign up on only one site as we will limit attendance to no more than 60.
