How do you relate to the term "geekery" or "geek"?

I'm more nerd than geek, but I am not really pedantic about it.

What are some of the activities that you enjoy doing? (You may wish to share, in particular, any that might be considered geeky.)

I've built robots, I made my own wireless network back in the 1980s when that stuff was hard, this year I made a fog chiller for halloween (we'll see if it works). I've climbed mountains, jumped from airplanes, built a desk, and I do digital signal processing for fun.

What are a few of your favorite things? (Book titles, games, places, movies, tv shows, restaurants, band names, brown-paper-packages-tied-up-with-string, etc.)

Books: I mostly read research papers and tech manuals. I'm into STEM, computer science, and computer networks. Games: RPGs (d20, AD&D, Pathfinder, Champions, Tekumel). Some board and card games and a little desktop FPS and XBox. Places: SanFran, Amsterdam, New Mexico. I think it would be more accurate to say my favorite place is my office.

In joining Geekery, what type of meet-ups are you hoping to find? (Gaming, evenings out, new restaurants, trivia, movies, outdoor stuff, museums, etc.)

Other local nerds. I like dinners, RPGs, gaming, movies, trivia is OK but I get slaughtered in pop-culture, museums are great. I love golf.

I'm a computer scientist turned network engineer. I enjoy RPGs, robotics and movies.

It was fun, but I had to leave afterwords, and did not get a chance to chat after the movie.
