How do you relate to the term "geekery" or "geek"?

Cardboard spaceships, cereal box communicators, alien costumes, that's how it all started… Sure every kid likes dinosaurs and astronauts, but I never grew out of it. I watch endless hours (emphasis on endless) of SciFi Tv, movies (good and bad), I love to have long and intricate arguments about my favorite fictional universes.Talking about the chronological timetable of the xenomorph's anatomical evolution would be an ideal conversation, wondering why in hell was SGU cancelled if the sets were built already… Maybe a combination of all that, drove me to call my self a geek….

What are some of the activities that you enjoy doing? (You may wish to share, in particular, any that might be considered geeky.)

Watching movies. Actually I probably spend more time searching for movies to watch, than watching them. Half of them are not worth a damn, the other half I have seen already. I would volunteer for the film festival year round if they let me, sadly I have to wait till february.

What are a few of your favorite things? (Book titles, games, places, movies, tv shows, restaurants, band names, brown-paper-packages-tied-up-with-string, etc.)

Battlestar Galactica. ALIEN. Star Trek (mostly voyager). SPACE!!! District 9. Border collies. Amazon prime instant video. Antiques. Robots. Judging movies by the color and quantity of the blood. MAGNETO, Cheese. Jan svankmajer. Felt. Werckmeister harmonies. Lost. SCIENCE!!!

In joining Geekery, what type of meet-ups are you hoping to find? (Gaming, evenings out, new restaurants, trivia, movies, outdoor stuff, museums, etc.)

Movies and boardgames mostly. Indoors A+. No crowds. Did I say no crowds? Yes no crowds.

Introduction

Animatronics were better.
