Special Event - Talk by Zach Bitter (Fastest 100-miler in US history)

We're very excited to host a talk given by one of our area's most accomplished runners, Zach Bitter, who has recently ascended in ultra running's greatest achievements. Among Zach's accomplishments is a 11 h, 47 min 100-mile race at Desert Solstice in 2013 (a US record), and in 2014, a 16 h, 23 min 200K race on a track (another US record) and a win at 2014's Mad City 100K (6 h, 44 min), which sends him to the 100K world championships as part of the US team. Ultra Running Magazine recently posted an interview with Zach Bitter: http://www.ultrarunning.com/features/interviews/zach-bitter-fastest-100-miler-in-us-history/

Join us to learn more about his experiences and advice. This will also be a great opportunity to meet many local runners, as we will hold an informal meet and greet after the talk. Refreshments will be served!

The location will be at the meeting space at the Middleton Public Library, at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, July 22nd.

There is a limit to 100 people. Should we magically reach that milestone, I will have to close the RSVPs. Until then, feel free to invite any interested running friends.

PS...sorry for the earlier glitch about announcing this announcement for the 23rd.  I had to unexpectedly change our date due to scheduling difficulties with practically every library in area code 608.

Hi guys! Since some were asking, I accidentally met up with a nice group of Thursday trail runners a few weeks ago and learned that the Berkeley Running Company publicizes a few different weekly trail runs of various levels. (They also have other non-trail runs that I'm less interested in.) If there was any interest in posting their trail runs here or getting onto their trail running email list, I think that Jeff Durbin is the right person to contact: [masked]. And I think the Berkeley's web site also has info about their runs -- but those runners participate in lots of other events, too, and some might like to join our meetup group!

What's the Berkeley trail running e-mail list and how does one get on it?

Ya, I must have more lists!

WOW. This should get shared with the Berkeley running company's trail running email list, if you haven't already done it!

Hi Maggie, I wasn't aware of their list, although I did send an e-mail to David M. @ Berkeleys to see if they might be interested. At any rate, I (and Kevin above) would be interested in joining such an e-mail list. That would be really cool if word could spread to their list as well.
