WHAT'S GALENTINE'S DAY?
Galentine's Day** (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgAOcNNMPKI) was created by Amy Poehler's character Leslie Knope on the TV show "Parks and Recreation", and it's a day to celebrate the cunning, pliable, chestnut-haired sunfishes in your life ... in other words, your women and gender nb friends!
WHAT WILL WE DO?
We'll craft the women and nb folks in our lives fun, empowering Galentine's Day cards while enjoying delicious food and drinks from local, women-owned breakfast heaven Short Stack Eatery, who has generously provided WiT members a 10% discount (just mention it at the register!).
Children are welcome.
DO I NEED TO BE THERE RIGHT AT 2:00 PM?
Nope! Come by anytime between 2 and 4pm to grab a bite and make some cards.
WHAT TO BRING
We'll provide some materials and the necessary utensils (scissors, tape, glue) but feel free to bring your own card decorations to share - lace, colored paper, stickers, fabric scraps - whatever inspires you!
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
Children: The more, the merrier!
Accessibility: Short Stack Eatery is an accessible building.
Parking: Short Stack doesn't have a parking lot, and street parking can be hit-or-miss. However, there are two ramps nearby: the State Street Capitol Parking Ramp, and the Overture Center Garage. It's also highly accessible by bus.
Dietary needs: Short Stack has gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options
**Technically, Galentine's Day is on the 13th, but we say it should be more like Galentine's month - one day isn't nearly long enough to celebrate all the beautiful, talented, brilliant, powerful musk oxen that we all love. ❤️
