• Clothes Swap

    El Arenero

We are having our yearly clothes & toys swap event. Bring baby clothes, shoes and toys your toddler has grown out of, please make sure the things are in good condition. How does it work? Sort your clothes by size at home and tag them so people can easily find the right size. Please also bring a blanket to be able to lay out the clothes on the floor. The leftovers are going to be donated. Looking forward to meet you!

  • Kayaking and Hiking Adventure & Camping

Reserva Natural de Iruelas - El Burguillo Lake

    €36.00

The Agenda We're going on a kids (all ages from 0 - teenagers) and dog friendly kayaking and hiking adventure to the beautiful natural reserve of Valle de Iruelas. A piece of hidden paradise with a high biodiversity. And just an hour from Madrid! How to get there • BY CAR - Meeting point: https://goo.gl/maps/BU32UruG9GA2 at 11:45. Please make sure you allow more than the GPS's time because there's traffic on weekends! Park right there by the entrance, or, if full just continue the little road and park on the side, it's okay. • BY BUS: Take the 10:30 am #551 (Madrid-El Tiemblo) bus from Intercambiador Príncipe Pío, dársena 22 (bottom floor). Get off at the bus stop El Tiemblo and we'll pick you up. Kayaking After a short safety briefing, and putting on our live vests, we'll take off kayaking. Kayaks can hold two adults with rows and two small children in front of each adult. Or one adult and one child. Or one adult and 2 children or even 1 adult and 3 children (but one of the 3 children needs to be old enough to row properly!) You can also take your dog on the Kayak. Those with children as little as around 2 years will be perfectly fine kayaking, even younger works if they're calm kids. There are life jackets for everybody and you can row as close to the shore as you wish at all times! Those with little babies can be given a lift in the motor dinghy with one of the skippers in the morning, and wait in the shade at the sunny beach. It takes less than an hour, so depending on how people are feeling, we'll go straight to the beach (about one hour at a slow pace) or stop here and there to rest, do a water fight, swim or take photos. No rush, no stress, just enjoy! At the end, we'll disembark on the lake's beach, right by the end of a beautiful creek, which is perfect because one part is super shallow for splashing and playing with the smaller ones, and the other part is a bit deeper, for swimming. In all parts totally safe and very clean. Lunch We'll then have lunch there (at about 2 pm more or less) with tortilla, empanada, cheese, cold chicken and some other picnic food with juice and colacao for the kids and tinto de verano for the adults!! Hiking Afterwards we'll go for a small hike (about 40 min up, 30 min down) to a beautiful view point where we can see the lake. There's also an observation hide to look out for birds, there's a good chance we'll see huge black vultures since this is the main breeding area in central Spain. If your child is under 4 years we recommend to bring a child carrier or hiking kid carrier backpack in case the kid gets tired. Those staying over night can finish the trail which ends at the campsite, or kayak back and get a lift to the campsite afterwards by car (5 min ride) Camping Option This is an eco friendly camping (Camping Valle de Iruelas) right in the middle of the natural reserve, steps away from the river and the lake. There are tents or bungalows (for 2 or 4 people), as you prefer. If you want to stay in a tent, we have a few to borrow FOR FREE, as well as sleeping bags, so make sure you ask before we run out! They have a restaurant/bar with raciones and bocadillos so you don't need to worry about cooking or bringing food! What to bring • A little snack for the kids to give them before kayaking. Lunch won't be until around 2 pm! • Hiking or tennis shoes with good soles • Flipflops or water sandals (not obligatory, just nice to have) • An extra pair of socks ( in case you step in the water) • Fleece or sweatshirt (or both if staying over night in a tent) • Sunscreen and a hat • Swimsuit • Towel -------------------------------- Prices Kayak + Hike: adult: 36€ , child up to 8 years old (+2 adults in kayak): 15€, (+ 1 adult): 25€ includes: Full picnic lunch with wine and kid friendly food, guides, rental kayaks and life vests Just Hiking: 16€ includes: Hiking and picnic. This option is for people with little babies who will stay at the beach and only come for the picnic. Camping in tents: adults: 6€ - kids: 5€ (5-16 years) - dog: 2€ + 16€ for the camping ground, 6€ for the car Camping in bungalow (2 people): 65€ Camping in bungalow (4 people): 85€

And that is actually a pity, because most of us have these concerns." Looking forward to see you there to get some new ideas and inspiration!
