Give yourself some credit, Nanda. You've done a great job with a very diverse group.

Sziasztok!

Hello Meetupers!

Our last event, yesterday, at Maximilian’s was just perfect! We had 27 members show up for a Sunday brunch that was discounted for our group, and we enjoyed great food and even better company - just a perfect assortment of Hungarians born in the homeland and here, all ages, all kinds of personalities... I had a blast! You can see photos (oh, they came out great - Ildiko, your camera is magical... Hehe!!!) and comments here:

I was already beyond pleased when I left the restaurant, but when I got home and checked my emails, I saw a message from Meetup.com headquarters letting me know that our Los Angeles Hungarian Group was chosen to be featured on the homepage (www.meetup.com) for the next 24 hours as one of the exemplary great groups! Now that’s what I’m talking about! :) While our goal is definitely not to recruit hundreds of people who have nothing to do with Hungarian heritage, it still feels great to have our group recognized as one of the best ones that has been going steady for years!

Even I find it hard to believe but our group is 5 years old!!! (I started it on July 4th, 2007) and has over 350 members. We had 88 events so far, and we are not about to stop!

Our next get-together is a potluck at Brian’s, which is a do-not-miss! You can read more and RSVP here:

I hope to see all of you there, or at an event soon.

:)

Nanda
