Maidenhead Sceptics in the Pub is open to all those interested in science, scepticism, critical thought, philosophy, investigative journalism and so on. It's also open to those not interested in such things! We welcome people from all parts of the various spectra of views; religious, political, ethical and anything else imaginable.
We invite a speaker every month to present on a topic of interest, which is followed by a discussion in a relaxed and friendly pub atmosphere.
The idea is to have a fun evening out with a bit of intellectual stimulation and lively discussion. Accompanied, of course, by the occasional beverage. Everyone is welcome, whatever their preconceptions, just bring an open mind and the desire to challenge and be challenged. If that doesn't sound like fun, come along anyway, because Sceptics in the Pub is always a lively event and you might just be surprised.
Events will be on the first Wednesday of every month at The Rose in Maidenhead starting promptly at 7:30pm.
The original Skeptics in the Pub, to whom we are deeply indebted, was originally founded in London, UK by Dr Scott Campbell in 1999, and is currently run by Sid Rodrigues, Tessa Kendall and Carmen D'Cruz.
The only controversy we are currently entertaining is whether or not "sceptic" should be spelled with a "c" or a "k".
