We are a group of licensed and certified mental health providers interested in enjoying company for socializing, networking, gaining knowledge, and connecting.

Group Guidelines:

Please note that by joining the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup, you are agreeing to all of the following guidelines:

1. The purpose of this Meetup group is for therapists, student therapists, behavioral health facilities and programs in the Main Line area to connect, share resources, develop professional referral relationships, and engage in discussions about issues pertinent to the counseling field in a non-competitive, non-judgmental atmosphere. Participation in this group is a privilege, contingent upon observation of the group rules. We do not discriminate against based on gender or sexual orientation, religion, race, creed, age or ethnicity.

2. Though some members are unable to attend events, they can connect with others via the discussion forum of our Meetup page. Socializing, networking, gaining knowledge, and enjoying the company and connecting with those in our field are the primary focuses of this group.

3. Some of our networking events will focus around the aspect of socialization and recreational activity (e.g. movie night and discussion, lectures, art exhibits or a group hike etc.).

4. Other events will be tailored towards sharing knowledge and experiences from our work including small group meetings, several tables of 6-8 group members each, on various pertinent topics in our field.

5. No advertisement of therapy services will be made to the general public, or to behavioral health consumers. Nor will actual therapy services be rendered via the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup. Referral requests and suggestions between Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers members are permitted and encouraged within the guidelines in keeping with professional ethics.

6. No posts should be made that are supervisory in nature. For example any postings made to the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup about how to proceed with a client is a supervision issue and is not within the scope of this group. However, requests for resources for clients, such as books or therapy groups, are appropriate. Please refrain from posting or publicly discussing identifiable client information such as name, communications directly from the client, or detailed case information.

7. All Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup members will have their name and credentials in their signature when posting messages to the group. Members must be verifiable and actively certified, licensed, or a current student in the mental health field.

8. The Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup Group will have at least two co-Moderators with full access to the Meetup Group management. The positions of Co-Moderators of the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup Group are volunteer positions and cannot be compensated as a paid position. However, the Co-Moderators of the list may request donations from members in order to cover basic operational costs (ex: yearly fees). The actual amount of such operational costs and donations collected will be made public to the group. Monies collected in excess of the operational costs will be donated to a charity decided upon by the collective group membership each year. All Meetup members are responsible for any individual fees for events and activities (i.e. food, meals, tickets, fees for events etc.).

9. No member nor moderator will personally profit by soliciting payment for group membership for the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup (above the cost of operational costs), or for attendance at our meetings, or for receipt or generation of our resources. Nor will any member profit from promoting the group therapist members to the general public. The Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup is run by volunteer co-moderators with no paid positions. The Co-Moderators of this group do not benefit financially from the group.

10. Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup networking meetings will be held pending volunteer participation. Members are encouraged to participate by hosting networking meetings, planning, advertising and leading meetings, or being a guest speaker at a meeting with mutual consent of the Co-Moderators.

11. Members of the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup are encouraged to introduce themselves and share practice information including, but not limited to, workshops, groups and events via postings to the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup page. Members are limited to three posts/announcements per offering.

12. Members are expected to behave respectfully toward others’ perspectives even when they disagree with them. Threatening, pejorative, or otherwise inappropriate comments to others are prohibited in the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup posts are prohibited.

13. Members will address all Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup related concerns to the group Co- Moderators. For example, if a member has concerns regarding another member's posting, they should contact the moderators who will manage any problems privately. Posting such concerns to the entire Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup compromises the professionalism of the group.

14. The Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup is a private Meetup group that requires membership approval from the Co-Moderators. As such, no member will forward/email Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup postings to others outside of the group membership. If a member forwards postings without the author’s permission, they will be removed from the group.

15. Both of the Co-Moderators of the Meetup Group will address individuals who violate group guidelines in the following manner:

First Offense: provide a warning/reminder

Second Offense: 30-day removal from the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup

Third Offense: Permanent removal from the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup

In extreme circumstances, Co-Moderators of the group reserve the right to dismiss members prior to a third offense. However, please note that it is not the goal to be exclusionary, but to maintain a positive and supportive community.

Both of the Co-Moderators of the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup Group must agree prior to any person’s removal from the group.

16. The Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup is a member-driven resource: It is each member’s responsibility to participate in the development of the group. The Co-Moderators of the Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup will not make any sweeping changes to the group without first consulting all other members via an email post. Members are encouraged to read all postings and to submit their opinion as to any potential changes.

17. The Main Line Licensed & Certified Mental Health Providers Meetup will have input when the volunteer management of the group changes. A vote between at least two candidates for each vacant position will be offered via email ballot.

18. Do not use this group’s forum for illegal purposes, including but not limited to defamation, violation of copywrite/intellectual property laws, criminal offenses, or antitrust/competition laws.

19. Do not intentionally disrupt/interfere with other group members, network services, or network equipment, including but not limited to chain letters, propogation of computer viruses, and the use of this network to gain unauthorized access any other machine via this group.

By joining this group, I agree not to take legal action against this group, or its moderators individually or collectively.
