Hello Authors!

You have received your week-in-advance notice for next week's meeting. It should be a great critique night. Critique helps to make people better writers by offering constructive feedback from your peers.

Another important part of being an author is getting your finished work read by an audience. Preparing for the submission process and creating Unclaimed Baggage was the group's first organized effort to help members of the group do that.

Over the next year, we want to use the knowledge we gained from that project and from our members to offer additional opportunities for you as authors to expand not just your writing skills but your publishing skills and audience building.

To start, I have created a blog that will also display on  the Main Line Writers Group web site. (It looks fine on it's own but I am still working on making it actually look good on the's all a learning experience). I hope that some of you will want to use the blog as a place to post or re-post your work or your thoughts in written form. Much like the book we produced, the goal is to create a wider audience for each of us by using the borrowed interest from the other members' followers. While anyone can read the blog, to post I must authorize you in advance.

It doesn't require you to commit to a regular posting just requires that you want to post some of your work or write a blog entry on an occasional basis. I will talk more about this more at the next meeting.

See you at the meeting!
