Instructables Presents The Sugru Open Hack Night!

Free Sugru? It can't be!

Oh, but it is! Our friends at Instructables are hooking you up with all-you-can-eat* free Sugru!**

Don't know what we're talking about? Sugru is a creamy rubber-like clay material that sticks to anything and hardens to a firm but flexible texture. You can use it to shockproof an iPhone, patch boots, add strain relief to wires, and rubberify damn near anything.

Still don't know what we're talking about? Instructables is a site of crowdsourced DIY how-to guides. It's actually a pretty good place to find projects, and they're sponsoring the event. Yes, Instructables is owned by Autodesk, a Big Company, so we are selling our souls to the man. But we're getting Sugru for them, so it's cool.

Still don't know what we're talking about? Screw it, come to the event, it's free and you get to build stuff.

THE CATCH: Instructables wants us to make a total of five how-to's at the event. These can be as simple as "I stuck Sugru to the bottom of my keyboard so it didn't slide around". We're throwing a contest - every Instructable you post during the event enters you to win a bag of Sugru to take home!

This Wild Card Open House is free to everyone, members or not, and is run by Zack Freedman.

*Don't actually eat the Sugru, you'll die.

**While we still have some. They're sending over enough for 30 people, but it's first-come, first-served.

By the way, the Fitbit looks like this...this is not my post, but it tells you just how durable these things are. Except for the holder. http://www.mydiabeticheart.com/2013/01/24/a-fitbit-durability-test/
