This will be an interactive class that goes over the basic knowledge necessary to compromise a vulnerable web server. We step through the web server code to reveal where a vulnerability exists. Then, we will write code that exploits the vulnerability and pop a shell into the web server.

The presenter will explain things at a high level as much as possible. However, this class will be geared towards an audience with programming experience, especially for the interactive portion.

In order to interactively participate in this class, please bring a computer with Linux (any distribution) with the following tools installed:

gcc (https://gcc.gnu.org/)

gdb (https://www.gnu.org/software/gdb/)

nasm (http://www.nasm.us/)

AGENDA:
