Collaboration between artists and technologists

Artists & technologists: this session will consider the opportunities for and benefits of collaboration, hearing from a number of artists, producers and technologists who are working in ways that interconnect the two sectors. One of the projects we'll focus on is Defining Pi, a recent initiative that involved artists working with a technologist to develop new features and work using Sonic Pi software for Raspberry Pi. It will be an informal session that is open to the public and encourages discussion.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the session yesterday evening. We really appreciate the enthusiasm, opportunities, and ideas that emerged both during the discussion and afterwards. Some ideas about how we could take this forward are forming and I will be picking up the conversation with Jonny so watch this space for future events. Please keep your ideas/thoughts/offers coming! As well as posting here, you can contact me on directly [masked] and via Twitter @Rachel_Drury. Also, if you want to contact/follow the others involved in the session - @samaaron @sonic_pi @meta_ex @Robsmithfield @snewoetak .

Thanks Rachel! I like the idea of an Artists/Technologists speed dating approach! x

Hi all, The meeting tonight was great. It was good to see all of the enthusiasm in the room. I believe there are tekkys willing to lend a hand with the expertise on some exciting projects (including me) so I guess I would like to see a place where we can throw ideas about and see if some plans of action can start to bubble up?
Sam's passion for doing something arty with ones and zeros is infectious.
    Thanks Rachel, I'm on board!

Is there an expected end time?

Sadly, the 12th is the date of the opening ceremony for this year's e-Luminate festival see (http://www.e-Luminatefestivals.co.uk), so I won't be able to make it. But I wish you all well, and hope to be involved later. :-)

Same for me: I would love to come to this event but I'm attending the e-Luminate launch.

Sorry I'm no longer able to make this event, I hope to attend another as I am very interested in meeting others that are involved in art and technology.

This would be awesome! Will one of you fixup the title to something less uncertain (or make the uncertainty clearly part of the name) and then I'll 'announce it' - assuming Saar, that you're happy to host?

OK. dropped the '?'. I'm hosting; Rachel Drury is organising.
