This group is to provide a forum of support for people suffering from shyness and social anxiety. Social anxiety can manifest itself in our lives in a range of different ways. From a seemingly harmless shyness around others to the panic and fear of agoraphobia, social anxiety's impact on our lives runs the full spectrum. If you have any anxiety, or self-doubt, that holds you back or keeps you bound in life or work, including social-anxiety challenges. Come and experience what your inner turmoil feels like when you are working in resolving it. Meet with other local people who suffer from shyness or social anxiety. Offer support and understanding and share your story with others. Learn and practice the skills it takes to overcome your challenges not just with society but all so yourself. Have fun with nonjudgmental people in a relaxed setting. Our meetups are to help people make friends, practice social skills, and have fun while doing both. Having a support system in one's life is very important and having one is unfortunately never a given for those who all too often suffer alone in the grips of social anxiety. I think meeting up will provide us all with real practice in social situations. Who knows? You may even make friends and have fun doing it.
Join this group if: a) social anxiety has been an obstacle in your life, b) you are tired of feeling this way, and c) you are motivated to break the negative avoidance cycle to overcome your anxiety and open up your life.
