What we're about

If you love to drink and enjoy great food and new friends then this is the group for you. We will visit wineries, enjoy dinners both out and potluck style, go to wine seminars and just about anything wine related you can think of!

Rules are as follows:

1) Honor your RSVP. Being a no show is grounds for dismissal. More and more venues are having me sign contracts to have 10 or more people. Many places charge me a no show fee. When I give a venue a head count they expect that number, staff accordingly and prepare food/drinks for that number. If I promise them 20 people and only 10 show up, the next time I go to make a reservation there, it won't be allowed. If you are not 100% sure you can make it, don't RSVP until you can commit or look for events without a size limit. If we continue to have this issue I will be forced to make all meetups pay up front and nobody wants that......

2) If you put yourself on the waitlist you need to make sure that you keep that up to date as well. If you make other plans, remove yourself from the waitlist. Additionally, you can not just show up to events with limited spots without an RSVP, this is unfair to those following procedure.

3) Same day cancellations are the same as a no show. I have to give the venues a minimum of 24 hours notice of a change in group size. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice it often isn't enough time for the people on the waitlist to be notified there is a spot. I understand emergencies come up, so if something does, let me know by sending a short message.

4) Wine Chasers is dedicated to providing a harassment-free community for everyone, regardless of sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, age, body size, race, nationality, or religious beliefs. We do not tolerate harassment of community members in any form. Wine Chasers violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the group.

Harassment includes offensive verbal or written comments related to sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, age, body size, race, nationality, or religious beliefs, deliberate intimidation, threats, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Wine Chasers asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a wine chaser engages in harassing behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from Wine Chasers. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organizer immediately.

5) Going forward the majority of the meetups with a size limit will be members only. This means +1's will not be allowed. If you have a friend that wants to come, have them join Wine Chasers so they can join in the fun. Read the meetup description to see if +1's are allowed for individual events. Additionally please don't ask if we can obtain a second table at smaller meetups. If that is a possibility, we will have already done so.

6) If you have suggestions for a meetup, or would like to help organize a meetup, let me know!

7) Have a glass of wine (or a whole bottle) and a wonderful day!
