Dinner Followed By Malay Play Bedok Stories with Hani O and Izzat Yusoff

When 35 year old Boy Celup comes across an article in Berita Harian, he is overcome by a sudden wave of nostalgia. His mind wanders to the carefree childhood he had and he remembers the good old days as a Budak Bedoks-a Bedok Kid. He recalls his younger days when life was much simpler-whether it was the friends he had, the games they played or the places he visited, these are invaluable memories that will forever fill his heart with warmth, especially when it comes to "Ustazah" Halimah, his childhood sweetheart.

Elsewhere in Bedok, the same is happening to Halimah. As she indulges in her memories, she thinks of Boy Celup, the boy who taught her strength and dignity.

Told in a series of monologues, Cerita Budak Bedoks (Bedok Stories) centres on Boy Celup and "Ustazah" Halimah, two Budak Bedoks who reminisce their past and share stories of living in Bedok in the 80s and the 90s. Through personal stories and anecdotes, they also recount sensational stories and events of that period that had shaped their lives: the cable car incident in '83, the Hotel New World collapse in '86, the missing "McDonald Boys" in '86, the advent of mobile technology in the early 90s, etc.Directed and performed by Izzat Yusoff, co-starring Haryani Othman, Cerita Budak Bedoks will bring you through time in ways you will recall, reminisce and never forget. Laugh, cry and relive some of their tender memories.

PS : Let's have dinner before the play and get a chance to practice speaking in Malay.:)
