  • This space is on the first floor of an apartment building - don't look for a typical church-like edifice!
  • Wow! We had 35 people at our November Malkhut Shabbat in Astoria. And there was a wonderful sense of sanctuary and space for all that we are feeling as we continue to reel from the elections.

We come together on December 16th, and it is with deep gratitude to Kris Wettstein, an amazing musician and composer, I'm able to announce that on the 16th we will begin to add instrumental music to our Friday night gatherings. Our prayers will be lifted and enriched, and our silences will be deepened as we bring in Shabbat with our voices and the sounds of piano and guitar.

Come release and re-invigorate through ecstatic and contemplative chant, singing, silence, and prayer. We'll also join in an interactive Torah discussion based in Mindfulness teaching. After services we'll gather for Kiddush and Motzi (blessings over grape stuff and bread), and a homecooked meal. Feel free to come for all or part of the evening.

Please chip in $10 per person via the MeetUp "Chip In" button to help cover food and rental costs. We can also use your contributions towards the purchase of more prayerbooks at $18 apiece.

No previous knowledge or experience with Hebrew, Shabbat or meditation is necessary.

All ages are welcome! Bring your friends!
