York's St Nicholas Christmas Market/Festival

  • St Nicholas Festival

Parliment Street, York, YO1 8RU (map)

  • Sort out nearer the time
  • This event is to join the rest of us who are going to the Italian lunch at Little Italy. After we have eaten we are planning on wandering around the Christmas market, going for a drink along the way round/afterwards. Will see what everyone wants to do.

There are 16 or going for the lunch so this event is for anyone who wants to join us afterwards (if you are already signed up for the meal you don't need to sign up for this event too, we'll assume your coming along).

We'll finalise where to meet nearer the time. We are eating at 12.30pm so have estimated those eating will be at the market around 3pm.

If anyone wants to organise a meal afterwards for those not eating at the Italian let me know and I'll add the details to the site or post below or can play by ear on the day. Likewise if anyone wants to eat beforehand feel free to post on here and make your own arrangements.

What they say about it... t’s the most wonderful time of the year and the York Christmas Festival is back bigger than ever, to transform the city into a winter wonderland with fairs, family fun and festive events.

St Nicholas Fair lines the streets with snug wooden chalets and twinkling lights. Stallholders will be selling unique gifts including jewellery, homewares, crafts and local wines and cheeses. To add the festive atmosphere, scents of hot mulled wine and roasted chestnuts will fill the air.

Hi, is anyone else traveling from Malton? I am thinking I may get the Park and ride a bit earlier on as I may as well do a bit of shopping at Monks Cross before we all meet around 3pm. I am not going to the meal beforehand. The only thing is the last bus on a Sunday is around 6pm :(

Anyone who is on this event and the Italian meal I'm deleting you form this one as you don't need to RSVP for both, if your going to the meal I'll assume you a likely to go to the market as well. That was people only going to the market can see who else is just doing the market and might be up for meal afterwards.

I would be interested in food later on/after as I am not going to the lunchtime meal. I may travel from Malton by train or bus for this one

If your down to come to the meal as well I'm going to take you off the RSVP list here for this event just as it makes it easier to manage :) so this event will just have list of people doing market but not meal :)

Yes I am happy to go by train also. We can go on the same train in the morning and return when we want to.

I could always organise a meal in the evening after the market :) I won't be going as stuffed full after lunch but those who prefer dinner instead of lunch I can do something for 6pm maybe.

If interested, comment with any suggestions on venue.
