Data, Insight, Action: Harnessing information in real-time at CDL with the Elastic Stack. CDL, a software provider, processes vast amounts of consumer data in milliseconds to provide a real time data enrichment service. This is helping our partners improve the
customer journey, combat fraud, learn consumer habits, and more.
The talk will cover how we tried and failed to build this solution, called Hummingbird, with ‘big iron’ before using the Elastic Stack.
We will show how we developed and delivered our solution at scale in under 8 months. We will demo how Hummingbird works and performs in production and how our DevOps team uses data to continually improve and deliver enhancements to the service.

“Building data excellence”. How can you build trust in your data - beyond data governance. Andy will talk through some examples (technical and non-technical) about how Oakland have helped clients understand where data quality problems may exist and how to resolve them.

Andy has spent his career helping organisations make the most of their technology and data. Starting as a change consultant at BT, he set up his own business. Following that he ran the Professional Services team at Rockshore (a software company that created real time information systems, which were designed to drive operational performance). Since joining Oakland he has set up their new Data and Analytics practice. He is working with clients to help them where they can apply advanced analytical tools to really create competitive advantage and deliver operational excellence.
