What we're about

This meet up is for people who enjoy all types of art and want to see a variety of talks, openings and exhibitions across Manchester. Meet for evening lates in the many Manchester galleries, library's, museums and studios. Mooch around and get the conversation going about the fascinating/inspiring/beautiful things you've seen. ( hopefully at an open night get a few free refreshments in too)
Maybe go for a drink afterwards.

We'll meet before heading into exhibitions so that peolpe get a chance to say hello and its not a struggle to find everyone inside. Meetups will be mainly after work and week nights and weekends.

AWOL Studios 14th Annual Open Evening

AWOL Studios

Join us for the 14th annual open evening at AWOL Studios. We will wander around the studios and see the exhibition for this year with the theme of "New Icons". This group went to the open evening last year and it proved to be a very worthwhile experience. Information from the event site: "For its 14th Annual Open Evening on the 13th July, AWOL Studios welcomes any and all curious members of the public into Hope Mill, a Grade II* listed landmark in Ancoats, and invites them to explore its four historical labyrinthine floors. Housing a huge range of creatives from painters, sculptors, textile workers and tattooists (as well as a few renegades who refuse to be classified!), AWOL Studios has established itself as one of Manchester’s most diverse and enduring creative communities. As always, it will hold an in-house residents’ exhibition, centering this year on the theme of New Icons, which will showcase a range of mixed media pieces discussing, and aiming to re-energise or even reinvent, modern Manchester’s visual identity. Our 5th floor neighbors Comme Ca Art will as usual host their own independent exhibition in their gallery, boasting incredible panoramic perspectives of the surrounding area and a chance to see an aerial view of Ancoats as the area develops and evolves. Drinks will be on offer as well as a chance to mingle with residents and chat about their practices. It’s a great opportunity to peek behind-the-scenes, get inspired, network or even just have a nosy!" This event is free and there is no need for ticket reservation so everyone is welcome.
