What we're about

For wordsmiths and art lovers alike.

Come and join us for a late night art gallery viewing with a difference. Each meet up we will go in a different gallery/exhibition, pick a painting or sculpture etc. then write something inspired by what we see. This can be in any form you wish, whether it's a poem, flash fiction, screenplay, a blog post or an episode idea for TV.

Get those creative juices flowing and we will have some time at the end if people wish to share what they have written about, this is not compulsory though so feel free to listen.

MEET IN GALLERY ENTRANCE LOBBY FOR 7:00pm For this month's meetup, we're are back at Manchester Art Gallery, who open their doors late every 1st Wednesday in the month. This time we will be focusing on just one room at the art gallery. We will be focusing on art inspired by Romanticism. Romanticism (also known as the Romantic era) was an artistic, literary, musical and intellectual movement that originated in Europe toward the end of the 18th century, and in most areas was at its peak in the approximate period from 1800 to 1850. Romanticism was characterized by its emphasis on emotion and individualism as well as glorification of all the past and nature, preferring the medieval rather than the classical.
