What we're about

Manchester Inclusive NDs is a new group created to explore and share ideas that promote the positive aspects of Neurodiversity, in particular the benefits of neurodivergent identity and different thinking (This may occasionally involve participating in discussions and creative projects/workshops/hackathons).

Figures suggest that up to 15% of the population is affected by Dyslexia alone; the subject of Neurodiversity covers this and many others such as ADD/ADHD, Asperger’s, Autism, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, SpLD, Stammering, Tourette’s Syndrome etc.

We are a creative, innovative, technical, quirky, unique collection of individuals looking to find a place that embraces all of these attributes and more. Above all else, we are a fellowship looking to destroy the ring of stigma that has been unfairly and incorrectly attached to neuro-cognitive differences.

Our goal is to empower you, share experiences, knowledge and best practices in a supportive, friendly environment. We'll help you stay tuned into Neuro-inclusive events and workshops and provide various opportunities to create, hack, campaign, make friends, connect with and listen to the movers and shakers in the Neurodiversity space.

We exist to keep the neurodiversity conversation rolling, build on innovative ideas, to promote enhanced inclusivity in all that we do as a society, and to remove the barriers that currently exist for neurodivergent individuals whether it's in education or employment.

Through this neurodiverse lens, we want to share the value this community of freethinkers, academics, technologists, designers, artists, misfits, rebels, and innovators has, which will hopefully lead to a more neuro-friendly society.

If you know anyone who is passionate about Neurodiversity, feel free to share the group link with them to keep our community growing, since there is always strength in numbers. We are also working on organising future meet-ups so thanks for your patience. Watch this space! 🙂
