What does it mean for Manchester to become A Social Enterprise City?

  • March 9 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Our next event will be an open forum discussion, focusing on your opinions, questions, ideas, hesitations or any perspective you want to share with us. This event is open to everyone.

We will be presenting our vision for social entrepreneurship and how the future of Manchester might be shaped by purpose driven companies. Following the presentation (15-20min) we will engage in a discussion on specific topics about Manchester as a Social Enterprise City. Our suggested topics are:

1.  Why we believe is important for social enterprises and the city of Manchester?

2.  What we have discovered so far based on preliminary research through interviews?

3.  Open discussion on what next and the “how”?

We will also go through a timeline for focus groups that will be held throughout the process to identify how we can collectively combine forces to achieve collaboratively defined objectives for Manchester.

Please RSVP on our meetup page, or make sure you get an Eventbrite ticket following this link.

We hope to see you all there!

I was looking forward to this but i've got some stuff going on and need to head home. Sounds like a great discussion, i would be v interested to see the outputs.

Only thought from me is much of the support available doesn't apply to these lighter / agile / non profit models (e.g. business growth hub - we don't have premises or employees so they said they couldn't help us). What might the equivalent look like for social enterprises? How can we help people get the right advice and contacts more quickly? (e.g. a central network).

Wishing you all an interesting evening. Viv

Hi, thanks for organising this. I'm interested in how social enterprise can help to address the causes of homelessness. Is this the right event to come to?!
