I did a version of this walk with Gavin last year and it was excellent, a new area for me, and I recognise many of the locations when passing through the county now. This is a linear (i.e. starting at one station and back from another) walk so much better by train but other options are available at your discretion. 6 miles 300 metres ascent Leader: Gavin
Description: A short but undulating linear walk with a steep start up to grand viewpoints over the Mersey estuary. We skirt behind the hill up to the adjacent sandstone hill with its famous war memorial. This is a joint walk between Manchester Weekend Walkers and our friends in the Manchester & Salford Ramblers.
Last time I seem to remember spending a while in a Frodsham Helter Skelter...maybe if you google that you'll see what I mean!
I will ask for the now traditional £1 contribution to cover Meetup running costs - unless you're in the Ramblers [Membership costs £3 a month or less - the sooner you join (http://www.ramblers.co.uk/groups/groupInfo.php?group=MR40) the more you save ;-) ]
