Welcome to the New York Asian Art, Asian Music, and Asian Hip Hop Meetup.
The Group: This group was created to connect New York artists, Asian artists, Asian art fans, and Asian art collectors; with each other. The groups goal is to create a stable social scene for Asian art appreciation and Asian art creation in New York. We are creating relationships which are good for artists, casual art fans, and serious art industry professionals. Though this group is made of many Asians, you do not need to be Asian to join this group. Anybody is allowed to join and attend this groups events. The only requirements being an interest in Asian Art and that you be respectful of the groups administration and its members.
The Art: Anime, Asian Architecture, Asian Calligraphy (Including Asian Graffiti), Asian Dance, Asian Fashion, Asian Hip Hop (All 5 Elements), Asian Industrial Design, Asian Interior Design, Asian Music (Traditional and Modern), Asian Pop Culture (Chinese Pop, Japanese Pop, Korean Pop, Mongolian Pop, Taiwanese Pop), and Cosplay.
The Event Organizer: Erik, the event organizer and an artist, is a Buddhist/Taoist. Erik has experience being the organizer of 3 other Meetup groups for Asians. Erik has created a passion for Asian Art, and religion by profession. Erik is a teaches Buddhism, Taoism, and Kung Fu, in Manhattan, New York. Erik has also worked in the New York art and music industry as a professional. Erik has over 6 years experience in the Electronic Music Industry, and over 10 years experience in the American Hip Hop industry. Erik is a member of the New York Asian community, art scene, fashion scene, and is currently finishing the creation of a modern, religious based Buddhist/Taoist art portfolio. Erik is also a talented Asian event promoter, and has hosted events in China Town, and Korea Town, in New York.
The Events: Besides art trips and art lesson events, we are going to host; Asian Art Parties, Asian Art Gallery Shows, Asian Fashion Shows, and Asian Club Nights.
