I am in my 30s and I want to organize hikes in the Rhein-Neckar area, the age of most group members is 25-45. Please note that the events are for free and it is a 100% volunteer effort.
The areas we are going to discover could be Bergstrasse, Neckartal, Odenwald, Pfalz, Heidelberg, and Mannheim. In most cases, we are going to use the train and in some cases, we have to go by car. The idea is to have full day tours mostly on Sundays (12-19km) and on occasion, fast but short hikes in Mannheim. I also want to do some off topic events. The speed of the group is normal/fast according to SAC-norm/Schweizer Alpen-Club (of course we make breakes), if you want to hike slow this is the wrong group for you.
Please be prepared for the hikes: Wear appropriate clothing (supportive footwear, hat, sun-glasses, gloves, etc.. and bring enough water and a packed lunch.
A real first name and photo of yourself are required for RSVP in this group.
Release of Liability: All organizers of Mannheim International Hiking Group are volunteers and not professional guides. By signing up for an event, the member acknowledges that they are aware and have made their guests aware of the risks, dangers, and hazards associated with any outdoor activity and freely accept, fully assume and tries to avoid all such risks, dangers and hazards. The member and guests further agree to release and discharge the organizer of the event from and against any and all liability arising from their and their guest's participation in the event activities.
Locus Free map (Android only) is the best Outdoor naviagtion App
maps: https://www.openandromaps.org/downloads/deutschland (for Android: just click on the region Rheinland-Pfalz, Badenwürtenberg and than press "Locus V3 Map" for map download. It is better to use small maps for regions rather than full Germany map (device gets slow with big maps).
For hiking tracks just download the GPX-files from ourdooractive.com or other communities.
