Our program has changed for this upcoming Meetup, but we are still on calendar.
We are disappointed to announce that the developer we are working with is going forward with the Rincon Valley site, but not as a cohousing community. Unfortunately, we missed our deadline for having 10 households committed to buying into that opportunity, so he will have to move forward with a traditional pocket neighborhood.
For those of you familiar with how cohousing gets built, this is the familiar chicken and egg challenge all cohousing communities bump up against. This speaks to the need to grow our community of people interested in and committed to building cohousing communities so that opportunities can be leveraged when they arise.
We are having a great panel of people from the Frogsong community in cohousing in Cotati!
This is a great opportunity to learn about what it really is like to live in a cohousing community and to ask your questions about how others managed to co-create their own great cohousing communities.
We are not giving up, and look forward to working on other cohousing developments. Many of our members are well-oriented to cohousing and have been eager for a project to take shape. If you are one of those, please step in and join us so we'll be ready for that next great site opportunity!
