Alpine Lake, Kent Trail, Stocking Trail, Rocky Ridge
I can tell you that these trails are stunningly beautiful! Again and again I find myself feeling incredibly grateful to live in The Bay Area- such an extraordinary place!
We start between Bon Tempe Lake and Alpine Lake- hike along Alpine Lake on Kent Trail through a canyon forest of tall oaks, bay and redwood trees, then across a small stream and climbing through a magnificent redwood forest, emerging on to a ridge with sweeping summit views of San Pedro Mtn. between Bald Hill and Pilot Knob the elevation here is 1,220’. At 1,200', this is where we will share our “Exotic Movable Feast”.
This feast idea is the inspiration of Mindful Hiker Andrew Di Genova. Here is how it works:
We all bring something for ourselves to eat and something to share. We encourage you to bring foods that are unique to your culture or individual tastes. In this beautiful location at 1.200' we prepare for our “Exotic Movable Feast”. Then we share the wonderful foods that each of us brought. Feast summary- have fun, talk, explore ideas and tastes. It's a great exploration in food, culture sharing and building friendships.
