Hope everyone is enjoying the relatively warm winter.
I am really excited to announce the next meetup event on March 10th. As most of you already know, we have a great speaker lined up. In anticipation of a larger audience, I have reserved a bigger than usual venue. So I hope we can set an attendance record for our group - please don't disappoint me :).
Thanks to the Pivotal Labs (http://pivotal.io/locations/boston) team for offering to host our event at their office in Cambridge. EZE software (https://www.ezesoft.com/) team has offered to help out with food and refreshments if needed.
Introduction: Ajit Umrani, Assembla
Featured Guest Speaker: Adrian Cockcroft, Technology Fellow at Battery Ventures
For those of you who don't know Adrian (https://www.battery.com/our-team/member/adrian-cockcroft/): He helped lead Netflix’s migration to a large scale, highly available public-cloud architecture and the open sourcing of the cloud-native NetflixOSS platform. Prior to that at Netflix he managed a team working on personalization algorithms and service-oriented refactoring.
Adrian is planning on presenting his most recent deck on Microservices - Why, What and How. If we have members in the audience who are new to Microservices, Adrian will cover the "why" part. Otherwise, we can skip that part and spend more time on technical stuff. There is more than enough material for 2 hours.
I already have a couple of questions for Adrian from our group members. If anyone else would like me to pass along questions or topics for discussion to Adrian, please let me know.
Address: Pivotal Labs, 145 Broadway, Cambridge MA 02142
It's at the corner of Broadway and Galileo Galilei Way. The location is easily accessible by public transport. There is metered parking on Broadway and a paid lot next door called "the blue garage".
