Meet the Author! Answers for Aristotle and the meaning of life

As you probably know by now, our own host, Massimo Pigliucci, has written a new book, Answers for Aristotle: How Science and Philosophy Can Lead Us to A More Meaningful Life. Join us for an open discussion of the book with the author, followed by an informal dinner nearby.

In his lucid and earnest way, Massimo describes how we can take advantage of the scientific knowledge we have about ourselves and society, and achieve our goals through philosophical examination of what we learn and how we learn it.

The Skeptical Inquirer commented: “[Pigliucci] is that rare academic…who is both an evolutionary biologist and philosopher (he has doctorates in both fields), and so he knows, better than most, that both science and philosophy are essential to understanding ourselves and our world….[A] lively discussion.”

And this from the New Scientist: “[Answers for Aristotle] will make you reflect on both the meaning of science…and of your own life.”

Massimo is a professor in the philosophy department at the City University of New York's Graduate Center. He was formerly a biology professor at Stony Brook University.
